Wye Oak Timber Framing, provides bespoke frames which will stand out from the rest, our hands on approach lets you choose and tweak your frame with our designers until you’re satisfied.  All our frames are made in our Hereford workshop.  Pre-assembled and quality checked by myself before erection which minimises site work.  If you have an idea for anything to be made out of Green or Dry Oak we can work on it with you and produce something special and unique.

The Wye Oak Story

  Wye Oak was established in 2005.  Before then I learned my trade from many Restoration & Timber Framing firms, picking up a wealth of skills and knowledge along the way.   My family moved to South Wales in 1989 where I finished my apprenticeship with a well known family firm in Hereford.  In 1991 I moved to a Restoration company in South Wales where I had the great pleasure of working on some of the Finest Buildings in Britain, Windsor Castle, Hereford Cathedral, Carrey Cennen castle to name just a few. In 1997 my working partner to be & I moved on to a large firm in Hereford, where we worked on small but very important buildings, Kenilworth Castle, Lower Brockhampton, Gate House, Whitley Court, Boat House etc.  In 2001 we made a move and set up a parternership in restoration and timber framing where we had many satisfied customers including a very well known timber framing company in Hereford, where we built and erected their building.  In 2005, I made the decision to go it alone and haven’t looked back.  Now, I have a small number of skilled craftsmen assisting me to make some of the highest quality frames that you will have the pleasure to see.  I personally pride myself on quality and honesty and will deliver you with a dream building.  My love of timber and traditional skills lets you have just what you want in any style with a common sense approach.

OAK Restoration

Restoration is something you have to have your heart in. Working with a heritage Conservation architect to retain as much of the old timber as   possible and bring the building back to life  Repairs  are made with scarf joints, splice joints, bridle joints, scissor   joints, half laps, face patches, flitch plates.All our oak frames are traditionally jointed draw-bored and pegged. We can provide you with many different products with timber framing traditional or contemporary.

House frames, Barn frames, extensions, swing pool enclosure, garages, truss and purlin sets conservatories, garden rooms, glazed sun rooms, smoking sheds, home office, bridges, gazeboes, porches, balconies, jetties, pergolas.We can also supply moulded or shaped beams fire place beams and beam cladding if you what to hide that steel asj. These can be provided to you in a kit form for self build or have our team of erectors do it for you the choices is yours.

Other products

We also make a wide range of oak products using some of our recycled waste.  tables, beaches, cribs, pegs, furniture garden bits, razed bed kits, fencing, large bird tables, bird boxes, we are always looking to make different and unique timber one offs.
